Natalie E. Leland

Natalie E. Leland PhD, OTR/L, BCG, FAOTA, FGSA  is a professor in the he Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh. Drawing on her geriatric clinical experiences working in post-acute and long-term care, Dr. Leland’s research examines access, outcomes, and quality of care for vulnerable older adults with a particular interest in how to accelerate the implementation of evidence into clinical practice to optimize patient-prioritized outcomes and mitigate disparities. Her work leverages a mixed methods approach to ensure the lived experiences of patients, families, informal caregivers, healthcare providers, direct care and ancillary staff, and other key community perspectives are reflected in the development and execution of the research. She is an expert in health services research, implementation science, community-engaged research methods.
